This tutorial will show you how to use the history brush tool in Photoshop
This tutorial assumes you already have your picture open in Photoshop
The history brush tool allows you to revert parts of your image back to the original picture. This is especially useful when using the brush tool
1) Select the brush tool
2) Add some brush strokes to your image
3) Now, select the history brush tool
4) Erase parts of the brush stroke
5) For this part of the tutorial, we will restore the layers palette
Notice that only the black was erased to show the original image beneath. Using the eraser tool wouldn’t work in this situation
6) Select the eraser tool
7) Now, if we try to erase the black…
…everything on the image is erased to white because everything is on one layer
