This tutorial will show you how to resize a document’s canvas in Photoshop
This tutorial assumes you already have your picture open in Photoshop
1) Go to the image menu
2) Select Canvas Size
3) You can select another unit of measurement from the list
Here, you will specify a new width and height for the canvas
4) Enter a new width for the canvas
5) Enter a new height
6) Choose an anchor point
Photoshop adds or removes space based on the anchor point you choose
7) Click OK
This anchor point will leave the original image at the bottom and add space to the top and sides
Since this image is layered, the space will be transparent; otherwise, Photoshop would let you choose the Canvas extension color, which defaults to the current background color
The new space has been added around the image relative to the anchor point
This is the end of the tutorial. You now know how to resize a document’s canvas in Photoshop
