How to Set Up Your cPanel Email in Microsoft Outlook 2010 Print

This guide explains how to configure your cPanel email account in Microsoft Outlook 2010 to send and receive emails from your desktop.


Step 1 — Log in to cPanel

  1. Open your web browser.

  2. Go to your cPanel login page:
    https://yourdomain.com/cpanel

  3. Enter your cPanel username and password.

  4. Scroll down to the Email section and click Email Accounts.

Step 2 — Locate Your Email Settings

  1. Find the email address you want to configure.

  2. Click Connect Devices or Manage.

  3. Scroll to Mail Client Manual Settings.

Important details to note:

Setting Example
Username your full email address
Incoming Server mail.yourdomain.com
IMAP Port 993
Outgoing Server mail.yourdomain.com
SMTP Port 465

Step 3 — Open Outlook 2010

  1. Open Microsoft Outlook 2010.

  2. Click File in the top-left corner.

  3. Click Info → Account Settings → Account Settings.

  4. Click New to add a new email account.

  1. Select E-mail Account.

  2. Click Next.

  1. Select Manually configure server settings or additional server types.

  2. Click Next.

  1. Select Internet E-mail.

User Information

  • Your Name: Your display name

  • E-mail Address: yourname@yourdomain.com

Server Information

  • Account Type: IMAP (recommended)

  • Incoming Mail Server: mail.yourdomain.com

  • Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): mail.yourdomain.com

Logon Information

  • User Name: your full email address

  • Password: your email password

Click More Settings → Outgoing Server tab and check My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication. Then click OK and Next.

Step 7 — Enter Mail Server Settings


Step 8 — Test Account Settings

Outlook will test your account by sending a test message.
Once completed successfully, click Close → Finish.

Your email account is now added to Outlook 2010 and ready to send and receive emails.

Tip: Always use IMAP instead of POP3 to keep your email synchronized across multiple devices.


Troubleshooting Tips

  • Verify your email password.

  • Confirm the incoming/outgoing server settings.

  • Ensure SSL/TLS encryption is enabled.

  • Make sure SMTP authentication is enabled.
